Leading in the key of G
We must take worship to the next level. Lives of people can only change and continue progressively to become conformed to the ways of Christ by supernatural encounters with the Living God. Touching God must become our passion. People are changed into His likeness when they are changed in His Presence.
The following provides a simple pattern to make this possible.
Guide
Guide the people with a gentle spirit while providing the prophetic direction. There is no reason to exert positional authority as you already know you are the song leader. You have already received this delegated authority. People now need to know what God has said and His kind intentions. They must be inspired by what you say and by what you carry in your spirit.
Govern
You must govern in the spirit by receiving empowering of the Holy Spirit in your own spirit. You must be strengthened with strength from on high so that you can lead from a position of strength. You need supernatural strength to lead the spirits of God’s people who will be at different levels of maturity and strength. You must be able to carry the spirits of righteous men and help them cross into the Holy of holies so that their spirits can be perfected in Christ.
You must govern the atmosphere and rule in the spiritual realm so that there is no resistance to what God wants to do. We are not ruling over people as there is only one King in Christ. We are not lording over them as there is only one Lord. We are to lead and not lord over.
Guard
God must release the discerning of spirits so that song leaders can deal with the negatives and the hindering spirits so that God’s people are free from any demonic harassment and oppressive atmospheres. We are to bring the deliverance to them by inspiring and strengthening their spirits, eventually leading them to victory. We must take responsibility over the people we lead and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to give us a strategic word that will break the yoke of the enemy.
The discerning of spirits helps us operate effectively in the spirit realm. It helps us indentify other spirits in action. It helps us discern their nature and intensions in the meeting we are leading. We can set the prisoners free and proclaim liberty to the captives.
Ground
The final objective of our song leading is to see God’s people change into His likeness and become changed by His Presence. We must prioritize this end result as all our leading and coordination as a worship team is to prioritize the worshipper’s spiritual well being. The emphasis of song leading should be and must be God’s people. The hour of worship must give to God true worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. The Father is seeking to receive each week a company of spirit filled worshippers who will please the heart of God. The time is now and reason to worship God at the next level is already upon us.
We must release the people on the ground not just the people on the platform. All must know the Lord.
Grace
God must put into the mouth of the song leader the word of grace which will build up the people and fast forward them into their inheritance. Song leaders’ words when seasoned with grace can sustain the weary and strengthen even the strong among us. The song leader must be wise not to over power the people with his instructions and directions to where he is leading. We must stop preaching when song leading. We must stop driving the people but with a gentle spirit guiding them without being domineering over them.
People coming for celebration Sundays want to meet the goodness of God and celebrate His greatness. They do not want to meet or clash with a strong human personality void of the spirit of graciousness. True genuine God centered graciousness will create the atmosphere saturated with God’s tender loving care. The dimensions of the word reveal God as He is the Word. The song leaders’ words and exhortations must bring revelation of God in our midst. God must be speaking in and through the song leader exhorting His people to come alive to worship around the Throne.
Gather
The song leader must gather the people and move the people from the cross to the Throne. He must inspire them that there is a new and living way through the blood of Christ to meet God. All that Jesus did on the cross of Calvary was to pave the way for us to worship God in the Holy of holies. The song leader must gather the people and not allow them to be scattered by fear or sin consciousness. He must inspire them that they have been made worthy to worship the Lamb. There is nothing that can stop them now from knowing God intimately. They can go all the way to the Throne to receive grace.
The song leader must realize that people can be distracted by all kinds of wrong perceptions and become influenced by other spirits. The song leader must have the largeness of heart to gather the people of God unto Him. Satan often scatters the people by over exaggerating their fears and misconceptions so that they will walk further away fro the Throne of grace. The song leader must assure the people that what Jesus did is sufficient to bring them to full contact with the Presence of God. God’s people are accepted in the Beloved.
God consciousness
The words of the song leader, the words of the songs and all the words of the worship team must inspire God consciousness into the minds and hearts of God’s people. The words we speak must be spirit and life and it must create an atmosphere saturated with God consciousness. The more intense the saturation, the deeper the consciousness will be. When this God consciousness is made known to the faculties of men, it will bring them to a place of accountability and spiritual awareness. The longer they stay under this canopy of this saturated presence of God, the deeper the cleansing and changing will be. The song leader and the team must be aware that the Holy Spirit can be grieved and the anointing can lift from the meeting. This consciousness will allow them to tread wisely. Any work of the flesh can trigger a chain reaction that can cut out the momentum in the spirit realm. The flesh must be subdued and the team must synergize so that they are empowered to lead the people to the next level of worship.
The leper who came to Jesus knew that God was able to heal but he wasn’t sure if God was willing. God is not only able but He is also willing to do more than we ask or think. God not only want to reveal His greatness but also His goodness so that we can become recipients of both His attributes. This God consciousness will bring gladness and joy to our hearts.
Let us take worship to the next level.
