Jesus died on the cross.

The goal of incarnation was DEATH. Jesus must take the place of Men as Man.
The Eternal Son became the Incarnate Son so that He may lay down His life as the Crucified Son.

Through ONE MAN came sin, through one man also came righteousness (Rom 5:15-19)

When He died on the cross – He destroyed and nullified sin, sicknesses, and satanic oppression.

 

1. The persuasion of sin – its appeal to the flesh through temptation of sin. The whole world lies in the sway of the devil.
2. The pleasure of sin – its promise to offer hidden joy and shameful happiness.
3. The penalty of sin – its punishment and judgment of death (Rom 6:23)
4. The predicament of sin – the chaos of guilt, curse, wrath and death.
5. The power of sin – the hold of sin over and upon the flesh and became a law of sin and death within men.
6. The presence of sin – kept man sin conscious and helpless before sin as sin nature is in him. (Rom 7:23) – reminding them of continual defeat of the past.
7. The pollution / progression of sin – it took over all aspect of his life, emotions, mind, body, will, habits in the body.
8. The personality of sin – sin expresses itself differently depending on nature of that person. The arrow flies out the bow depending on the skill, confidence and desire of the warrior.
9. The propitiation / atonement of sin – only Jesus can cancel all the certificate of debt held against us. He came to set us free. He died for us (1 Cor 6:20).
10. The perversity of sin – the transmission of sin. It is CONTAGIOUS and spreads quickly. It came through ONE MAN and spread (Rom 5:18,19,21). Sin came to the WHOLE human race.

 

His death on the cross BROKE our slavery to SIN, FLESH, LAW (of sin and death), Law of Moses, world, Satan and Hades.

 

1. THE CROSS is the point of the great Divide – death and life, chaos and order, darkness and light, heaven and hell.
2. THE CROSS is the point of Double Exposure / Extremes – pure love of God vs. vilest wickedness, blindness vs. compassion. The best of God and the worst of men.
3. THE CROSS is the point of meeting – God and man, judgment meets righteousness, God’s redemption meets Satan’s claims.
4. THE CROSS is the turning point – now new creation is possible. God is finally satisfied not just pacified.
5. THE CROSS is the exit point of all of Satan, sin, sickness and Hades.
6. THE CROSS is the Entrance point of heaven, light, life, God
7. THE CROSS is the point of decision – place of decision to choose God’s call and destiny
