If we are not cleansed before God, the devil can attack us anywhere. When we are in trouble, get back to God quickly. There are provisions in heaven that can set us free.  When Joshua is in the temple, he is okay. If we want to access in the higher order and stand in the heavenilies, the earthly order cannot sanctify the heavenly order. The blood of Christ can cross over. No one before Jesus can do this. In the Old Testament, even when the power of heaven comes down, it cannot be transferred. In the New Testament, everyone can receive. God wants to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.
