Exodus 17: 8 – 16
8 Then Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim. 9 So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” 10 Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses’ hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set. 13 So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this in a book as a memorial and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 Moses built an altar and named it The LORD is My Banner; 16 and he said, “The LORD has sworn; the LORD will have war against Amalek from generation to generation.”
This is the book of war. There are patterns in war in our lives that will bring us in a place of safety. Every battle is winnable.
- If God is for us, who can be against us.
Don’t think that our battle is strange or the battle is too big.
- We cannot enter into any battle except the ones that God is leading us.
Let the Lord choose the battle because He is the Lord of the Battle. Sometimes the devil is like a bully and hope that we will pick up the fight. We are not fighting because we must not allow the devil to become the captain of the host. When God takes over, He does not take sides.
- We have to fight from the prevailing position of stature
If we want to win any war, we need to have elevation. We must rise up as the man of stature with spiritual position to prevail. We must know what we are far above, and not far below. God is the one guiding the sons of God to rise up.
Revelation 12:1, 5-6
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; 2 and she was with child; and she *cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.
5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
This child was no ordinary child. It is the reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ and the overcoming church. We must be in the position of stature. We are in the midst of giving birth to a radical breed and the enemy is afraid.
We are entering a major battle in the spiritual world but we must know the battle is winnable. The Lord will choose the battle for us.
God has made us stronger and that’s why we are fighting from the prevailing place of stature. Stature comes when we please the Father. We are promoted because of trust because we can deliver and mature sons. Our agenda is God’s agenda. Do all the things for the Kingdom is our sacrifice of our service.
Rev 12:9-10, 11
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
We can be sure that the results of the war are already pronounced. When the enemy goes down, we go up higher and higher. When war begins, we evict him from his place.
Rev 12:3
3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
Rev 12:13
13 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
All of creation is watering for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Rev 12:16
16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth.
When men are redeemed, the land is redeemed. We are always on the victory side when God tell us to do something and we do it. The Lord chooses the battle. Don’t get trap in the firing line of the enemy.
Exodus 17:9
9 So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.”
Our position is fixed and we are born to win. When Jesus was born, He was not born to be a king. He is a King. Station ourselves in the right place.
- Battles are first won in the spirit.
Moses’ hands were coordinating for the victory of God’s people. When we win in the spirit even the physical realm will be supernaturally touched. It is in the spirit world we consolidate the results. Prayer, worship, prophecy and preaching are essential because those are words of what we believe.
Pray that God will give us understanding to win the battle in the spirit world. When the spirit realm is ok, the natural will change. If we have resistance from law, we have to deal with it in the spiritual place and deal with the power behind it. Satanic power can influence the nature of the people involved; i.e. the girl with spirit of divination.
If we station ourselves in the right place, we know that by the Spirit we can win. We win in the spirit and pray until our spirit feels free. Get our spirit level high and the water level will go up higher. Keep our heart clean and run and new things will happen.
- God will draw enemies out so that He can train our hands for war.
If we want to play any game, there must be opposing team. The enemy cannot hide anymore because God is on our side. Our place of safety is in Him. Things that are in the environment or we are involved in, God will flush out the enemy. We won’t know what is wrong in a situation unless we are in a spiritual place of stature. Otherwise we will be thinking why everything seems to be wrong.
- Double our efforts by accelerating our faith into action.
Sometimes we don’t know how long we need to be strong. The truth is we need to be strong until Jesus returns.
There is nothing to lose but everything to gain. When the enemies are brought to us, they will fear and tremble. Pray more and worship more. Prophesy, preach and share.
We thank Him that He leads us. When we have a great leader, we will win every war.
- We must submit to the chain of command
There should not be any violation to this rule of engagement. When people are submitted to the chain of command, we can keep the enemies out. Authority is from above. We cannot start from our own.
The Lord gave the command to Joshua, and Joshua gave the command to the leaders / officials, then to the family and family to the siblings. The level of authority is properly established.
The devil loves rebellious people because they are like devils.
We must learn to take order.
Acts 1:2
2 until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen.
All these will prepare us for Kingdom life to manifest God’s Kingdom and power. Jesus came to manifest the Father. He revealed the Father through His life. Christ is in us and the hope of glory the whole earth. We provide our contribution and the corporate Christ will manifest.
